Energy Efficient Lighting
At Phase Three Electrical Services (Merseyside) Ltd we offer a full 'Energy Efficient Lighting' survey of how we can save your company money, by identifying areas where changes need to be made throughout your building, office, home. We will then produce a detailed report, breaking down cost and how and where your lighting will be improved and over what period of time.
With lighting accounting for up to 30% of the average electricity bill, It is an important area to address when making energy saving choices. Indeed, discussions surrounding the benefits of converting to low energy lighting have been at the top of news and political agendas over the past few years.

Benefits of Compact Fluorescent Lights and LEDs
Energy Efficient CFLs are four times more efficient and last up to 10 times longer than incandescents. A 22w CFL has about the same light output as a 100w incandescent. CFLs use 50—80% less energy than incandescents.
Less Expensive, although initially more expensive to purchase, you save money in the long run because CFLs use ? of the electricity and last up to 10 times longer than an incandescent.
Reduced Air & Water Pollution Keeping in line with our Environmental Policy, replacing a single Incandescent bulb with a CFL will keep a half ton of CO2 out of the atmosphere over the life of a bulb
High Quality Light. Newer CFLs give a warm, inviting light instead of the “cool white” light of older fluorescents. They use rare earth phosphors for excellent colour and warmth. New electronically ballasted CFLs don't flicker or hum.
Versatile. CFLs can be applied nearly anywhere that incandescent lights re used. Energy efficient CFLs can be used in recessed fixtures, table lamps, track lighting, ceiling fixtures and porch lights.
The Phase-Out
The decision to Phase-out the basic 'A' shaped old fashioned GLS light bulbs and introduce CFL's comes from a joint and voluntary initiative between the UK lighting industry, retailers and the government.
Between Jan 2008 and Dec 2011 all inefficient GLS bulbs will be phased out and CFL’s will be introduced throughout all British homes with minimum savings of 75% on energy burnt and a 24% decrease in energy expenditure on lighting inside the home.
